Provident Education Foundation (PEF) and Provident Charter Schools (PCS) share a mission to empower students with dyslexia & other language-based learning differences by providing a safe, supportive, & inclusive educational environment grounded in research-based practices. Every child deserves access to high-quality, individualized instruction that addresses their academic challenges & nurtures their strengths. Our vision is to redefine what’s possible for students who learn differently, equipping them with the literacy skills they need to thrive in school & beyond.

Since opening the first PCS campus in Pittsburgh, PA in 2016, followed by a second location in Beaver County in 2023, PEF has focused on serving students in Western PA. As public charter schools, PCS adopts a private school model offering highly targeted, explicit reading interventions, traditionally available only through costly private education. By operating as charter schools, however, we can provide this specialized instruction tuition-free, ensuring access regardless of family income. Funded through state & federal sources, just like traditional public schools, our model eliminates financial barriers to high-quality literacy instruction. Through structured literacy, multisensory learning strategies, & a commitment to nurturing the whole child, we have helped hundreds of students build the foundational reading skills essential for lifelong academic success.
